Interconnect IT is a company formed in 1996 with the original purpose of producing content specific for the online market for news and media organisations. It was formed by David Coveney and a group of journalists and was originally called Speed Publications limited. We had lofty ambitions but faced an immature market at a time when few others understood the potential of the web. So as a result David Coveney changed the focus of the company and consulted on enterprise software systems to organisations like Toyota, Unilever, Oxfam, BUPA and the French Ministry of Finance whilst also often working as a subcontractors for the big four consultancies.

But big organisations can be quite slow moving in the online world, and we wanted to work with the latest and best technology there is. So it became time to look at a new direction for our small business.

Interconnect IT became our new name, and with David Coveney and James Whitehead at the helm we’ve successfully come full circle – our largest specialism is building WordPress solutions for news and media organisations, including Telegraph Media and Informa Telecoms & Media amongst others.
